New CEO for Alpha

NEW C.E.O. FOR ALPHA AUTISM - APPOINTMENT OF MS. WENDY STURGESS

Following the resignation of Tracel Devereux in late 2011, the Board of Alpha Autism Inc. embarked on an exhaustive executive search to find a worthy replacement for Tracel. Over 100 applications were received for the position and following interviews a decision has now been made and it is much pleasure that the Board announces the appointment of Ms. Wendy Sturgess to the position of C.E.O. of Alpha Autism Inc.

Wendy is currently the National Partnership and Sponsorship Manager with the White Ribbon Foundation and comes to the role at Alpha with extensive experience in the Not For Profit (NFP) Sector. Previous roles have included operating as a Senior Consultant in the NFP Sector as well as C.E.O. of the Crisis Support Services Inc. from 2001 to 2009. It is hoped that Wendy will commence in the position in March and can work with Tracel for a short while to ensure a smooth transfer of the C.E.O. role. Tracel will leave the role formally on 15 March 2012.

The future for Alpha will be a challenging one with many changes to the roles and funding of Disability organisations in the near future and the Board looks forward to working with Wendy to further advance Alpha as the primary deliverer of services in Melbourne and Victoria for Adolescents and Adults with Autism.

The Board also takes this opportunity of sincerely thanking Tracel for giving such excellent service to Alpha over almost 10 years. Tracel has seen the transformation of Alpha from a fledgling organisation to the vibrant and successful business that it is today. We have also appreciated her selfless commitment to continue in the role and give the Board such a good time frame in which to make the appropriate appointment and also to enable the smooth transition of the C.E.O. role to occur. Tracel has been the backbone of Alpha and I know all Board members, both past and present, have genuinely appreciated her assistance given to them in their roles on the Board. We wish Tracel all the very best in her future endeavours and look forward to her keeping in touch with all the staff, clients and families of Alpha, as we know she will.

Greg Enticott, President.
On behalf of the Board of Directors of Alpha Autism Inc.
23rd February 2012.
